Background

  • Sea Experience: Service world-wide on board Royal Fleet Auxiliary and Royal Navy ships.  Captain and Chief Officer on board ships carrying out a variety of scientific investigations including seismic and environmental projects.
  • Shore Experience: 6 months secondment to the Operations Office acting as Operations Officer for fleet of three scientific vessels operating world-wide.
  • Safety surveying, on board training, personnel assessment, certification checks, surveying navigational capabilities (charts, manuals, electronic equipment, etc.), and safety checks on ships’ lifting gear.
  • Use of power boats under all sea-going conditions.
  • Since late 2007 employed by POSH as both an IMCA auditor and as an HSE Client representative or crew HSE Advisor. More details are listed in experience.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Certificate of Competency Foreign-Going.
  • HND in Nautical Studies.
  • ISO/ISM Lead Auditor Certificate.
  • Topset black box Accident investigators course.
  • NEBOSH International Diploma.
  • NEBOSH International Certificate.
  • HUET.
  • Advanced fire fighting 3 courses attended at Royal Naval Fire fighting school.
  • Ships masters first aid.
  • GMDSS Certificate.
